The Car

Our chosen chariot for this adventure is a 2000 Audi A4. Pulled from a garage sans engine and transmission after having sat since 2012. The car started life in Florida as a 1.8 4 cylinder with a 5 speed manual transmission. The original motor and transmission was removed at some point for a second 1.8 4 cylinder. That motor was long gone by the time we purchased the vehicle in 2018. During its lifetime, it appears that car received received a partial S4 suspension retrofit, a swap to an older style AEB 4 cylinder motor and a variety of other aftermarket upgrades and changes. For our purposes, a 2.8 6 cylinder motor was found via Craigslist in a storage unit in a cornfield for $200. Mileage unknown, possibly from a chopshop but it was almost complete including the wire harness and most of the accessories. A 5 speed transmission from a local junkyard rounds out the drivetrain.

We purchased the car mostly disassembled, surprisingly we found bits and pieces of at least 3 different cars inside, all with different interior colors along with other random mechanical and suspension parts.
